Texts will be provided by the teacher upon the first day of class and are included in the cost of the class.

Preparation time for the students each week will include some studying of notes in for quizzes/tests and a midterm and final exam; weekly assigned readings and annotation of texts. Students will be required to write a number of analytical thesis essays and will be assigned several creative writing pieces.

Additional information/comments: This is a great way to introduce kids to the depths of literature and how to analyze fiction and poetry especially for those who haven’t worked much with literature and/or who don’t like to read. For those interested in a full credit English course, this pairs well with English Fundamentals.
