Our consultant regularly holds seminars, workshops and information sessions on a variety of topics related to college search, application and financing processes. Below, you will find details of our current and upcoming programs and services. Additionally, our counselor provides individual appointments to aid students and their parents with setting realistic college admissions goals and expectations. Financial Aid Fundamentals
This workshop provides an in-depth look at the financial aid process helping to demystify it and set realistic expectations for financing college. The differences between loans, grants, scholarships and work studies will be explained. Information relating to both the FAFSA and the CSS Profile will be shared. This program is recommended for parents of 9th-11th graders. Registration is required and may be made by emailing or making a PayPal payment here.

Naviance Know-How in 90 Minutes

​If you're the parent of a 9-12th grader, this workshop is for you! Understanding the ins & outs of Naviance and how it can help you in the college search process will save you a great deal of time and anxiety as your student navigates high school and eventually the college admissions process. This program is for high schoolers and their parent(s) and requires a laptop or tablet and knowledge of your Naviance login info (User ID and password). This program is limited to 10 families. Registration and payment are required in advance.

Spring Small Group SAT Prep for the March 27th & April 9th CT Exams

Each 4 hour session will include test taking strategies, sample exam questions, practice tests, and answer review. English prep will run from 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM and will focus on the Reading Test and the Writing & Language Test. Math prep will run from 1-3 PM. Both the no calculator and calculator sections of the exam will be addressed. There will be a 30 minute break for lunch. Our students typically increase their scores by 100-200 points overall. Registration and full payment are required in advance by either using PayPal below or by mailing a check payable to Access Success. Enrollment in this program is limited to 8 students. We confirm all registrations, so if you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact us.

​​How to Negotiate Financial Aid

Calling parents of college-bound seniors and current college undergrads: Join us for this hour-long seminar covering the basics of what you need to know to successfully negotiate your student's financial aid awards. Learn the difference between an appeal (which is made through a school's financial aid office) and a negotiation (which is made through a school's admissions office). Each requires a specific and different set of criteria. Which is right for you? This seminar also provides info for families of current undergrads who have experienced a change of circumstance - e.g., a separation or divorce, loss of a job or reduced work hours, start up or close of a business, care of an elderly relative, family health crisis. This program is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required and can be made by sending an email or making a PayPal payment here.
